I'm considering buying this 61" JVC HD-ILA for Xbox 360 and HD-DVD stuff. But what's stopping me is I don't know if it accepts 1080p via component, and I've read the bulb doesn't last very long. Can anyone tell me if it does accept 1080p via component, or if the picture is better than DLP (my next choice)?

According to the features listed below the tv, it uses HDMI for it's 1080p.
There are a couple of people, over at S&V forums, that have the JVC HD-ILA tvs, and have had no complaints with the bulbs.............
That's the tv I want too! Be awhile before I can get one though.

I must admit to not knowing whether the XBox 360 can output 1080i over component. If it can, the JVC is a good choice because it's one of the few sets that does perfect de-interlacing of incoming 1080i, which means there is no difference whatsoever in pq when feeding 1080i vs 1080p.

I have a Sony SXRD that accepts 1080p over HDMI only. I have HD-DVD outputting 1080i and BluRay outputting 1080p--there is no difference whatsoever in pq.

Eric, I've heard of tvs that can do 1080p over the VGA connection. Might be just LCD and DLP though. I know the Sony SXRD tvs don't though, it maxes out at 720p. Does anyone know if the JVC HD-ILA tvs do 1080p over VGA?
