Does anyone here have this JVC DR-MH30S Hard Drive/DVR?

It looks intriguing. Amazon sells it for about $450 at the moment. It has a 160 GB capacity Hard Drive.

    Pros? Cons?

    Thanks,

    Neil

I've been considering this too, and have read all of the "user comments" I can find on various boards and price comparison sites.

As far as facts go, it is comparable to units like the Toshiba XS34. It is also in the range of the Panasonic DMR-EH50 or Pioneer 520H (except these only have 80 Gig hard drives).

The opinions about this model are less certain...

Some folks think it has the best recording picture quality out there. Others say it is too soft.

Some say it is easy to make accurate edits on the hard drive (cutting commercials, for example). One user on another board returned the unit because the editing interface was too hard to use compared with Panasonic, Pioneer and Toshiba.
