Yes. Sadly, I have another JVC horror story to report. My 721BK (the 723GD in black finish) has broken down. What's wrong with it? Everything. It skips, the audio drops out from DD 5.1 to 2.0, I have to disconnect the unit to retrieve the disc, the cursor/hi-lite vanishes, and it runs very hot despite not having the vents covered. I am sending this puppy back to JVC in the morning before the warranty expires. I must say that this is/was a great unit while it was working. I was very impressed. However, for some reason, JVC is unable to keep their DVD players functional? What's up with them? Anyway, away it goes to the shop.

Have had my 721 for about 5 months with pretty regular to heavy usage, and no problems. Luck of the draw I guess. Great Unit IMHO for the cost.

I agree with you regarding the unit itself Sean - Outstanding. I hope that once JVC repairs it, all be back to normal.
