not sure how it sounds yet b/c i just ordered it.
@college (w/ some of my old roomeate's stuff), i had a panasonic receiver (low end) w/ 2 jbl s26's, 2 crappy surrounds, crappy center, and audiosource sw-15 sub, sony dvd (not bad), OLD 27" tv.
right now @ home i just have the 32" TV w/ cable, no DirecTV or TiVo

When you get your RP62 fired up, could you let us know how it is...I'm debating between it and the RP56.

    I will.
However, my review will most likely be "Excellent picture, Excellent sound!" because:
    1. this is the first dvd player i have bought (i have nothing to compare to)
    2. it is on a non-HD set (less resolution = less likelyhood of seing fault in player).
