I just placed the order for my new components.
    Receiver - Denon 3802
    Center Channel - Klipsch RC-3
DVD Player - Panasonic RP91 (NO MORE PS2 FOR DVD!!!)
    RCA DRD515RB Dolby Satellite Receiver
    Home Theater Master MX-500 Remote
I already have ESS Targa 412-T mains and some older 2 way cerwin vegas for surrounds (I can't afford all Klipsch just yet). Matched to an older Mitsubishi VS-6015R 60" rear projection TV.
I can't wait!!! I'll probably be checking UPS.com every hour to see where everything is. . . [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Thanks for the congrats. As for Wide Screen, since I don't have one yet I have no real opinion. I haven't yet learned what "Pan and Scan" is so again, no opinion. [IMG]
I haven't bought any DVD's yet. Just a few rentals played through my PS2 and my old Sony receiver (STR-AV 1000) so I haven't been able to make any real observations.
    DVD's I'll probably get:
    Tombstone
Crossroads (just for the Steve Vai part)
    Armageddon
    Silverado
Are there different versions I should get or avoid?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    tom -
most of us here are fans of widescreen, but you should make up your own mind. some may try to...ahem...coerce their viewpoint, but just remember the decision is all yours.
check out this article...it explains what widescreen is all about:

if you really want to get into the video side of things, go to the software forum. lots of good info about dvd's, etc.

Congrats. Getting your home theater set up and playing for the first time is always a sweet experience. About those dvds there is a new Vista Series edition of Tombstone coming out on January 15, 2002 and I would get the Criterion Collection of Armageddon. Good Luck with your new HT.
