Well, Ive been an HT enthusiast for around 8 years now. Ive had a "decent" set up for that time, using pioneer elite components, infinity speakers, and a 61" widescreen panasonic rear projection set.

This week I finally broke down and ordered my dream system.

    I ordered a sanyo PLV-Z4 projector with a 92" fixed screen
    a new Pioneer Elite VSX74TXVi 7.1 receiver
a Pioneer Elite DV79AVi DVD player
and a set of Axiom speakers , Epic 50-350 7.1 setup

I am going to truly enjoy installing all of this next weekend.

If anyone has any advice on installing the projector or any other bits of information I would appreciate it.

Congratulations on your new system. I'm in somewhat of a rebuilding mode too. Last year when my brother moved into his new house I loaned him my entire system so I can devote my undivided attention to school work. The move seems to be working because ten years ago I failed out of college and this time around I'm on the Dean's list. Once I have that degree in hand I'll celebrate by upgrading to a bigger and better system [IMG]

Upgrading is great, I wish I could do more of it.

Great equipment list although I probably would have suggested a different DVD player. Pioneer makes a great receiver but their DVD implementation leaves something to be desired, especially for the money.

    Joseph,

give me some more input on the DVD player. Im far from being an expert.

The reason I went with that player was simply that my past experience with their components was great. I have never had any complaints at all.

BTW, everything is installed and working now. This is truly my dream room now.

I will try to get pics up soon.

Here is a link to a site that rates many DVD players against one another using the same video tests. Audio is not considered but is not a big deal to most people passing the signal digitally to their receiver.

Their are some affordable Panasonics 77 and 97, the Oppo if you only need DVI, and maybe a lower model Denon that is affordable and performs very well.

    Hope this helps.
