    Hey Folks-
Ya know that Jurassic Park deal?
Well, I requested the DVD of
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle,
thinking, "Heck, for free, I can aways give it
to the my niece and nephew if I don't like it."
Well! I was laughing my ass off!
    So many SMART clever jokes!
    The narrator stole the show!
If you liked any of the wisecrack films of
the Police Squad ilk, you should at least
    give this DVD a rent.
I know my exspectations were low, so I was
amazed at how much I enjoyed it. Your
results may vary... But really I think
many of us over looked this gem, which
is heads and shoulders MUCH MUCH funnier
than either of the Flintstone films.
The DVD has a nice widescreen transfer,
has a 'spotlight on location' featurette,
the trailer, and that is about it.
Sorry, but I am keeing this one for myself!

Not that it means that much,
but Ebert gave this film three stars
in his review at The Chicago Sun times.
    I just checked.

I saw this one in the theater.
I'm a fan of the original Rocky & Bullwinkle series, so that made this movie even better for me.
Robert DeNiro was a perfect choice for Fearless Leader, IMO. (As was Rene Russo for Natasha Fatale and Jason Alexander for Boris Badinov)
Even better, June Foray did the voice for Rocky like in the original series!

I liked that they kept the tone of the cartoon and not only insisted on not changing the characters, but made it a plot point. The jokes were not quite as consistently sharp as the original series, but it was close enough, and the "hit-to-groan" ratio was about right. Oh, and Piper Perabo was adorable.

    Regards,
