My antenna is indoor/outdoor and the manual says

Is it a fire risk not to ground the antenna? How important is it to have it grounded? Do they just put that in there to cover their own asses? I'm just going to set it up indoors for now. Thanks for any input.

Fire hazard? I dunno. From what I understand, a direct lightning strike is going to destroy whatever is hooked up to an antenna, even if properly grounded. BUT, grounding the antenna properly virtually eliminates the risk of a direct hit, because any charge that builds up in the antenna will quickly seep to good ol' mother earth.
