A hypothetical question... Can a sonotube function as both the enclosure and vent at the same time?

An example would be a 165 liter EBS alignment for a shiva. If a 10" port were used as the vent it would have to be roughly 132" long for a tuning frequency of 16 Hz. The volume of this port is 169.6 liters.

I know a "reducer" would have to be made to allow for the cutout diameter of 11" for the shiva down to the 10" for the enclosure/port, but that would be easy.

Not that many of us would want an 11 foot sub laying around, but it might be a fun experiment. [IMG]

By the way, I'm currently in the process of making a, let's say unconventional looking EBS tempest enclosure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one...

What you're describing is called a transmission line. A google search will get you a ton of info about them.
