If fat were a known addictive drug rather than a flavor enhancer yes, otherwise, whats your point?Caffeine is addictive but no one is suing Coke, Pepsi, or the tea and coffee manufacturers. The fat may lead to heart disease and obesity. The major point as I see it is that cigarettes are legal. People can do whatever they want. Blaming someone else for their addiction is total bs and shouldn't be allowed. Ok fine, the companies new it was addictive and bad for you and told everyone the opposite. They don't do that anymore and haven't for decades. Have the gov't fine them and that should be it. No one forced these smokers to start smoking in the first place. No one told them to smoke 2-3 packs a day. They all started because they wanted to. They all can say "no thanks" just as easily as I can. Why should these companies be punished because some people are so weak that they can't stand up for themselves? Its time for people to stop blaming other people for their problems and accept responsibility for their actions. And its time for the courts to start punishing those that try and start up these lawsuits because we all know they just see it as get rich quick schemes.
