Kidding, kidding, kidding... Most definetly kidding. (or didn't anyone notice that lil fella next to my post with the 'twitch'?)

Not that there is anything wrong with that car choice, in fact I'm sure I would normally have a lot of fun in a car like that, especially on some of those fun back wood dirt roads in West Texas, but for now I have no urge to add to our vehicular line up.

Besides, I think if I were really interested in playing in the dirt, I'd lean towards a used race ready Peugeot 206:

There's just something about this lil French car I like. :)

John,

I'm sure they have awesome performance but I've never been able to look at them in the same way a lot of you do. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't shoot Nils with a rubber band for buying one though. I wouldn't want to make him cry!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments! Anyone game for an upcoming screening of Hellboy?

Colin,

I used 1" Linacoustic RC made by Johns Mansville (very similar to their Theatershield line that folks talked about all the time in the AVS archives). I thought it did a decent job getting the RT60 to a reasonable level, but as Jonathan points out, 2" would probably be better acoustically. It would be a bear to work worth though with respect to door jams, outlets, etc. I used 1" batting above my chair rail so that the wall was even. As a finishing touch, the Linacoustic and batting is covered in acoustically transparent fabric (I've got some good sources - email if you want them).

The riser is stuffed with blown-in insulation. You can buy it by the bundle at Home Depot/Lowes. I didn't rent their insulation blower, but instead just fluffed it by hand. Kind of a pain but it went pretty quickly. I'd recommend using a double layer of OSB or playwood for the top of the riser -- it really adds a sense of solidness.

John,
We're sorry that we weren't able to see your digs. You'll just have to have us over for a movie night! :D

Jacob, I've been trying to email you, but I seem to be having email server issues. I can receive no problem, just can't send. Email me your phone# if you're still interested in getting together and we'll set something up.

Chad, I'm in for Hellboy if the schedule permits.

Hey fellas I just heard that Lucasfilm has an amazing announcement at the Comic Con for the DVDs.

If true it will shock everyone. Heard it from Harry Knowles' sister at Pedunk Chunk.

I went back and looked at the cover art of the DVDs and at their announcement about how Lowry did extensive restoration work.

Also I'm thinking of hosting a poker night of Texas Hold Em if anyone is interested.
