Never heard of The Killer Shrews but I'm preordering it just for the cover.

Oh wait. Uh...

Ha, good stuff. Killer Shrews was once featured on MST3K.

Nice eclectic bunch of contributors there.

Patrick, as always, I have to request the oldie-but-goodie: Manos Criterion cover!

Yes, original artwork--and the plot summary is totally accurate, too! :D

Though obviously a certain key character should be in the artwork as well, at least on the back. And of course the menu will feature the haunting Torgo theme.

Patrick,

Very funny. Next you'll be telling me that Criterion is going to release a version of Armageddon. :)

They'd never sink so low as to release a Michal Bay movie. That's like saying Criterion is going to put out "The Rock". Ha That'll be the day;)

I'd buy this. It scared the daylights out the kids I was babysitting too many years ago, and I know some kids I'd like to scare today.

I'll be buying "The Killer Shrews" as part of the MST3K Volume 7 collection. But just for the record, I would buy a Criterion of it. Hell, I have "Fiend Without a Face"! :)

See, Ishtar is almost too plausible, because Elaine May has kind of a critical cult following. I mean, look at the posthumous rehabilitation of Mikey and Nicky, which is sort of the same movie as Ishtar except the former does buddy schtick a la John Cassavetes whereas the latter does it a la Crosby and Hope. :)

Here's a couple hopefuls I found at the criteriondvd.com forums (there are hundreds of them in the thread):

and one good one (except for the "Paul" misspelling):

I always enjoyed this one.

I especially like how they include Aaron Norris' name, in typical Criterion director-as-auteur fashion...
