I just got confirmation from a friend who recorded the audio commentaries that April is going to be a big month for Judy Garland fans!!! I'm not at liberty to discuss anything else, but rest assured that a movie about a famous city will be released that month!!!

Yeah, this is absolutely true. My group did some work on these as well, and I can confirm that Meet Me in St. Louis, For Me and My Gal, In the Good Old Summertime, (EDIT: and Ziegfeld Girl) are all on their way.

it looks like April is the same month we get the following musicals:
Half a Sixpence - first time anywhere in widescreen and stereo
rodgers and hammersteins Cinderella - first release of Julie Andrews version.
    Keep them coming!

This is indeed great. For Me & My Gal is one of my favorites. I hope they sell well so they will release more!

I may be wrong, but the Andrews version was first broadcast live and in Living Color. I think there was a follow-up version with Andrews which was recorded on video tape. I'm not sure and I'm sure someone can correct this info.

Thread is moving off-topic, but to answer the question about CINDERELLA. It was broadcast live on CBS (who by 1957 virtually broadcast no color programming since the RCA/NBC color system beat CBS' in the "color wars"). Videotape was in its infancy, so CBS' only way of "preserving" the show
    was to film a kinescope.

For many years all that was thought to exist was a poor 16mm kinescope, but I recently read that CBS found 35mm kinescope film elements in its vault. I believe it is from those elements that this new DVD release (by IMAGE) is being prepared for this Julie Andrews premiere version of CINDERELLA. The only version on videotape, was the 1965 production with Lesley Ann Warren.

Easter Parade is coming (according to my source), but it could be 2005.
