I have found a report on the internet which says that Jonanthon Brandis died on 12th November. Isnt this the child actor who was in Never Ending Story - (havent got my copy on me) ? Terrible news if true - according to the site he was 27.

I can't find any other site that mentions it....so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

And heres something from the "Cleveland Plain Dealer" website.....

Actor Jonathan Brandis, 27, who starred in the movie "The Year That Trembled," which was filmed in Ohio, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment Wednesday. Brandis, 27, was found by friends and pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Los Angeles coroner's office. There were no signs of violence. An autopsy was due to be performed yesterday, an investigator said. "The Year That Trembled," produced by Tyler Davidson and Scott Lax, who were living in the Cleveland area at the time, was filmed in Ohio and premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2002. Brandis played Casey Pedersen, a young man who is caught up in the turmoil of the Vietnam War. "It's a terrific tragedy, and our hearts go out to the family," said Davidson, who now lives in Los Angeles.

I really still don't know if its true or not I really liked him in Stephen King's IT.

    Well, if needed, RIP

Well, another site has confirmed it:

    http://sonafide.com/

Very odd that it only appeared as a blurb in the Plain Dealer...

He was in Sidekicks too, great movie. [IMG]
Stepfather 2 as well, both movies I liked.

He'll be missed. This is kind of odd, anyone else agree? The numbers just keep going up...

    Strange and sad.

I also liked his work in It, Stepfather 2, Sequest, Sidekicks, etc.

I even remember his name being kicked around for Anakin in E2 and E3.

Haven't been able to find any other confirmation of this though.

I mainly remember him from Ladybugs (according to his IMDb bio, he dated his lovely co-star--Vinessa Shaw--at one point), but Sidekicks was a guilty pleasure. Hopefully, the news won't be true.

Sad to see him pass away. He will always be remembered for his role in the Aladdin animated series as Mozenrath, the evil ruler of the "Land of the Black Sand". I will install his voice pack on Unreal Tournament in honor of Jonathon Brandis. [IMG]

According to an MSN group, someone was able to get confirmation from the coroners office - http://coroner.co.la.ca.us/htm/Coroner_Home.htm# - and also that calls have been placed to his agent - Innovative Artists, 310-656-0400 - and they decline to comment. This is looking to be true...and it really sucks. I haven't tried to verify any of this, just reporting here what is said elsewhere.

I met Mr. Brandis in my younger days on the set of SeaQuest (one of my dad's childhood friends worked on the show and I got to visit the set, which was here in Orlando, FL), he was a really nice guy from what I can remember.

In fact, I have an autographic picture somewhere in my room at home... that first season of Seaquest was one of the finest dramas to come around in YEARS to the NBC network and was a favorite of mine. I'll miss the guy... he was itching for a come-back!

So a fan site and a paper are the only sources? The team of the movie he's working on doesn't even know? I'd call shenanigans, but after Cash and Ritter, this kind of news wouldn't be entirely unknown.

Don't know if there's another thread for this, but we do know that composer Michael Kamen (Band of Brothers) passed away at 55 today. Man, this just isn't a good year to be in the entertainment business...

This truly is shocking. I was thinking about him not too long ago and how I haven't seen him in anything lately. I was a big fan of Seaquest and thought he had talent. [IMG]
