Why has THE MANDALORIAN become a better watch than the last three Star Wars films?

Absolutely outstanding show. It's kind of amazing how it was a slow warm-up for me from the first episode but that finale just really brought it home.

I am surprised nobody is talking about the other big reveal...

    The helmet removed

Is that the face of THE actor playing the role or did they do another Vader move where they substituted the real guy for someone else?

Pedro Pascal does the voice of The Mandalorian and performs on set inside the suit sometimes.

Pedro Pascal played Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones season 4, and
famously had his head squashed like a melon by The Mountain.

    Hence this meme.

For you, but I enjoyed the last three Star Wars movies.

I think it depends on the show. I remember trying to watch Orange is the new Black and thinking “if you had to wait a week for the new episode it wouldn’t have lasted 3 episodes”

This was really a terrific finale and a fitting end to a great season. Every episode of this show kept it simple: The finale was essentially an escape. It was fast-paced, but it still managed to have great arcs for IG-11, Mando, and the Mandalorian armorer. The reveal at the end is significant, especially if you've seen Clone Wars and Rebels. Can't wait to see where they go with this. It's easily one of 2020's most anticipated shows.

Bingo. As it is, since the season ended:

    1) I watched The Witcher S1 twice, once fully, once on as background
    2) I still haven't watched Watchmen
    3) We get Picard S1 at the end of January
    4) We will get Discovery S3
    5) I need to watch The Expanse S4.
    6) We will get The Orville S3

So yeah, I can wait, and not be jonesing like a crack addict for more Mandalorian.
This is the age of the spoiled, who whine incessantly if they can't binge watch everything, immediately.

This was a great finale for S1. It tied up a lot of loose ends. It looks like:

    1) He is clear with the guild and Reefa Karga. I think there is less of a chance of the guild taking that bounty on again now that they know it is a wanted war criminal ex-Imperial governor issuing it.
    2) We can have a 2nd season exploring the search for Yodakin.
    3) We will have something popping up with Boba Fett.
    4) The coven leader/armorer laid down the law to the Mandalorian. "Your foundling, you take care of it until you can return it to its people".

I was really surprised they bothered showing his face. I think they should have kept it secret. It adds to the mystery of the character, the reveal wasn't needed.

The same goes with his name. He is no longer "The man with no name".

These were 2 cards they didn't need to play, but did.

I agree they didn’t need to show his face. It cheapened his character a bit.

Test footage has surfaced from Lucasfilm’s Star Wars Underground project from 2010. Looks impressive.
