Interesting. The back of the 11/3/1998 release I have has “1996, Color, Approx. 85 Minutes.” Either a shorter version or most probably a printing error.

well, it does say Approximately, and 88 rounds down to 85.

Mmmm...not really. If you were rounding to the nearest 5, 88 would round up to 90, not down to 85. But on almost all dvds, times are rounded to the nearest minute.
