I mentioned on the Black Friday haul I picked up a Cricut Maker gen 1 at Costco. $240. This is how you get new folks into the hobby.

I didn’t realize there is a newer model for $399 but even knowing that now I think I’d have still bought this one.

First cut is a success. Gotta work on not curling the page when pulling it off the mat.

get them in with a small fan?

i know nothing about this device. My impression is scrapbookers use it for making stickers or whatever you paste in scrap books.

whats the appeal to you? I have no comprehension of what this is and why anyone would spend $400 on it. 3D Printers I kinda understand. But expensive tech to cut paper—way outside what i know.

My wife has one of these.

She uses it to make t shirts about 99% of the usage.
They offer one that puts images on mugs but after researching that as a possible Christmas gift it doesn’t look all that good.
You have to buy their mugs for that device.

If you go onto Etsy and other similar sites and see people selling tshirts with personal designs on them they’re probably using a Cricut.
