Buena Vista?? Unrated?? Original Language??
They have ruined all other Jet Li movies why the sudden change of heart??
I have the original HK VCD and the runtime is listed at 93 mins and it seems wider than 1.85:1 more like 2.0:1. Anyone have any info on this release?

The import DVD has a bizzare apsect ratio. I would be surprsied if Buena Vista's DVD included the original soundtrack, especially since it's cut.
Buena Vista has done this in past. They claimed CITY ON FIRE had the original soundtrack right up to the day of the release.

Its not in the original Cantonese.

The listing is confusing but The Master has a new Dolby Digital English 5.1 surround soundtrack.

Albeit, Iron Monkey was presented in the original Cantonese with optional English subtitles. Amelie is presented in the original French with optional English subtitles. Life is Beautiful is presented in the original Italian with optional English subtitles. Princess Mononoke is presented in the original Japanes with English subtitles(although has consumers had to fight for this one).

So original language with subtitles is not a "new" thing from Buena Vista Home Entertainment...they just seem to do it more selectively.

The Master is a terrible movie, but dubbing it all into English does alter some of the character interaction, if I recall. Li's character comes to America not speaking any English, and part of the "humor" came from his fish out of water experiences. Not that it matters to Buena Vista.

The Import DVD is full frame. You can see all the "goofs" (not really goofs, because they didn't transfer it OAR).

A lot of the movie is in English since it takes place in LA. The movie is one of his worst (yet I keep it because the cheese value is a 9!) The **ahem** mexican gangbangers are **ahem** a little different than say the ones in "colors" or "training day". hee!

BTW, it was on the shelf for a while but finally they realised it abroad three years later after it was filmed to capitalize on Jet's increasing popularity.
