The last time I looked, the thread title was "Jennifer Connelly's popularity" not "Jennifer Connelly's rapid weight loss and appeasement of the Hollywood dictates of the feminine form".

Her rapid weight loss definitely affects her popularity for a number of fans. It's a topic that's going to come up when you end up discussing one person in particular.

I totally understand what you're saying about it being off topic Patrick (I said it myself in my post) but I think Chris makes a pretty good point, it is a topic that is going to come up whenever you talk about certain people, especially when their weight loss is as noticeable as it is with someone whom you've seen for years & years and feel that you have come to know (in a visual way at least).
Hell I've been a fan of Jennifer Connelly ever since I first saw her around late 1984 in Creepers (A.K.A. Phenomena) and have seen damn near every film she has been in, so when she changes in such a drastic way it doesn't go unnoticed by her fans.
Nonetheless it is off topic so if someone want's to start up a new thread about this ongoing Hollywood "trend" I'd be happy to join in on the discussion, I will no longer talk about it here.

How many times do you guys have to be reminded that she lost a lot of weight for her role in The Hulk??

She herself said she plays a jackie o figure that later becomes voluptuous.

Then why does she look so skinny in A Beautiful Mind? Surely she didn't start losing weight for The Hulk that long ago.

She may have looked skinny in A Beautiful Mind, but if you saw her on Leno in December and Letterman in January you would know that she looked much more voluptuous. Her breasts looked as big as they ever did. Then at the Golden Globes she started looking thinner, and then at the Oscars she looked skinnier than ever. She started losing weight right after the Letterman show.

Just because someone in hollywood get's thinner that automatically makes them anorexic??? Maybe she is eating better or taking arobics. That's called healthy, not anorexia! Lot's of people lose weight, why is it that if they are in the media everyone thinks they starve themselves. I think a lot of it has to do with jealousy, then roumors get started and so on and so on.

I know lot's of girls that are thin and eat a lot. The trick is to eat right and excersize a little.

Jennifer is a vegetarian. I don't know if she has always been one though.

While I don't think shes anorexic, she definitely isn't healthy in her current state. But like I said, its for her role in The Hulk.

Perhaps she just got tired of hefting those large breasts around and decided to do something about it, to the huge dismay of the male population.

Maybe someone should invent the sympathy breasts (like the sympathy pregnancy tummies for men) that men could wear all day and know what it is like to have to walk around with 10 pounds dragging on your chest all day.

I hope that the weight loss IS becuase of the Hulk. This is the first I've heard that its for her role as Betty Ross.
It has nothing to do with her boobs and everything to do with her looking "unhealthy".
Even in her prime(I LOVED the way she looked with a bit of the extra meat on her)it was always her face that I really adored.

Remember on Friends when Ross and Rachael made up their respective lists of top 10 people they could sleep with and it would be accepted in their relationships (because they were all untouchable celebrities like Sophia Loren for Ross).
Well, Jennifer's #1 on my respective list with my SO.;)

I will jump back in just for a second to say that noticing her weight loss for me had nothing to do with her breasts & had everything to do with her sunken cheek's & eyes.

I know this may be somewhat severe to say, but Jennifer Connelly has some similar features to Elizabeth Taylor during her younger years. It's the total package; the face, the figure, presence, classic features, and most of all: those piercing eyes. She would give those classic Hollywood beauties a run for their money. It's good to see her recieve success and recognition through her increasingly higher profile in the industry today.:emoji_thumbsup:

Also, is the guy as The Hulk a newcomer?
Eric Bana
Black Hawk Down was mentioned (he has a kick-ass small part as a special op who comes to the rescue at one point and has a nice bit of dialog to finish the film)
But his biggest role (as far as him starring) is probably in Chopper where he plays an Australian killer who may or may not be a very dangerous guy. He is excellent in the film and I recommend it as a rental for all who like a slightly funny colorful badguy type film.

Seth, Have you viewed the DVD? Or is the R1 version bare-bones? I have the R4 disc and it has an audio-commentary by Chopper and it has some good interviews with him. He is definately a character.

I had forgotten this thread, but I breeze by and it seems I have brought some heat upon myself. I wasn't trying to crap on the thread, just offering my opinion. Maybe I'm the only one, but my wife is constantly worried about her weight, due to the standards these skin and bone actresses set for other women. And yes, the "needs shot" comment was too far, and I apologize, but I'm pretty outraged at this epidemic of eating unhealthily and full blown eating disorders becoming hip.

She used to have a great mountain range. Where'd those puppies go anyway?
Well, when one stops eating, the body feeds off itself. I find it sad that all these actresses are so weak-willed that when they are told they are getting too heavy, even when they are obviously not to a rational human being, they

immediately jump on the eating disorder bandwagon. I can only imagine what it's like to have a teenage daughter who see these women as the "standard" they should meet. Choosing to get thinner is not a bad thing. Choosing to get thinner when you were already skinny to begin with IS a bad thing, in fact, it's a psychological disorder.

Hopefully now I've stated my opinion without offending anyone.
