Jeffersons AITF hopefuly the Jeffersons will stay on a real schedule rather than a 2 year gap
Excellent! Glad Columbia's getting quicker with Archie and the Meathead!
I think they both look great but personally they could come in paper sleves and I wouldn't care, I'm just glad to have them released.
I think if people REALLY enjoy the Jeffersons, they should by season 3 and All In The Family season 4. In season 4, Sherman Hemsley makes his debut as George Jefferson (giving Archie Bunker a run for his money).
I'm ecstatic in regards to "The Jeffersons". We've been waiting for this release for so long. I was almost at the point where I chalked it up as a lost cause. I only hope they're more consistent with future seasons. I'd love to own this entire series, especially since all forthcoming episodes are new to me. I've watched the first 2 seasons countless times, but have yet to see an episode from seasons 3-11. Bring them on!
Great news! I'm glad All in the Family is getting released at a faster pace now. Season 1: March 26, 2002 (10 months) Season 2: February 4, 2003 (17 and a half months) Season 3: July 20, 2004 (9 months) Season 4: April 12, 2005 I wonder when Sanford and Son Season 6 will arrive?
Andrew...I know you're excited, especially since you've never seen The Jeffersons before. I'm just as excited as you..lol As I mentioned on another message board, the third season is hilarious!!! As far as the Jeffersons box cover, I think it would've been funnier if they used a clip from the third season premiere "George and the President". I'm not going to ruin it for anyone, but there's a scene with George and Louise that's hilarious. They could've used a close-up of that scene as a snapshot for the cover. If you have no clue as to what I'm talking about, then I guess you'll have to wait until you get the DVD.
I'm guessign may or June, they probably don't want all 3 of these shows competeing with each other for our DVD money
I'm with you, DaveK... Archie Bunker VS George Jefferson! THAT was a clash of comedic giants, because Sherman Hemsley held his own against Caroll O'Connor, not an easy feat!
Finally the wait is over. The Jeffersons season 3 is being released in April. I can't wait!
I'll be getting both immediately. I thought we would never see Season 3 of The Jeffersons. I'm very glad to be proven wrong.
I hate to contradict myself, but I have to show you guys this picture. Enjoy
Geez that some lousy video quality. (davek's screen shot of the TV) here's a reviews for AITF
LOL....I took it with my phone cam. Let's hope the DVD will look much better.
I just got both the All in the Family Season 4 and The Jeffersons Season 3 DVDs today. Haven't watched AITF yet, but I saw The Jeffersons' "George and the President" episode...HILARIOUS!!! The prints look remastered; much better than what's on Nick at Nite. PLUS the tag scenes are here Andrew...you will love this
Oh, I already do!!! I was at the mall at 9am yesterday just to get the 3rd season of "The Jeffersons". I already finished the first disc. The "George & The President" episode was priceless. I literally couldn't stop laughing. It's been a long two years, but I can honestly say it was worth the wait. Florence literally cracks me up. She was pretty scarce in the first 2 seasons but I can't get enough of her quick jabs at George. Like I said, every episode from here on in is new to me, so I'm literally in my glory. My only hope is that we don't have to wait another 2 years for season 4.
James.... Here's the pic from above of the videotape taken with my cameraphone Here's a snapshot taken from my computer of the DVD Andrew...I finished watching Disc 1....what are your favorite episodes from Disc 1???
I just got through watching the ENTIRE Jeffersons DVD and I must say that EVERYONE should go and buy it!!!! The show is timeless; it could be shown on CBS now. Besides the wardrobe, the one thing that reminded me it was a 70's show was a line in one of the episodes when a character tells George "this is 1977...." (which happens to be the year I was born...lol) On the flipside, I was VERY dissappointed with the All In The Family DVD because the quality of the prints shown on TV Land look 10 times better than the DVD. It looks like they didn't restore or remaster these prints. Check out the reviews on the Amazon Webpage Has anyone else purchased either of these DVDs? Please tell me what you think.
Sony blew it with me! This was one of the first series I bought when I first got my dvd recorder three years ago. I also purchased season 2. I would have continued to support more seasons if Sony had brought it out at a faster pace, but now there's so much competition from other tv shows, that I've lost interest in The Jeffersons. Same thing with Mary Tyler Moore.
Ron....believe me when I say this has been the funniest season released so far.
