I currently have the JBL SCenterII, the S36II for the rears and an SV 39-20 subwoofer. My last piece of the puzzle is the fronts. The debate is between the S310II's and the S312II's. The only difference seems to be the 310II has a 10" bass driver while the S312II has a 12". The price difference is about $100 for the pair. With the SV sub do I really need the speaker with the bigger bass driver or will the S310 suffice?

    FWIW Keith,

I auditioned both and liked the fuller sound of the S312 better than the S310. If you run them as small I would bet you'd notice little difference. I don't have a Sub yet and wanted 12" cones for bass until I decide which subwoofer I want.

The S310 will suffice IMO. Since you'll likely be running them small there probably won't be a difference.

I actually prefered the sound of the S38 bookshelf over the floor standers. The floor standing speakers give off fuller sound, but it didn't appeal to my taste.
