JBL N26 (not II) at Best Buy for $105 with 9 yr warranty! (1 Viewer)

Through a little "haggling" with the audio department manager, I just picked up a pair (new in box) of the discontinued N26's for $69, with a $30 9 yr BB warranty. It started at the BB price of $128, and he went right down to 98 plus the warranty. Then we went to the register and he said he'd go even further to $79. A little more hesitation on adding the warranty brought it down even more to $69. Easiest $59 bux I ever saved, plus I have the extra warranty to boot.

what's the (not II) in the title for? I'm confused.

JBL is discontinuing the northridge line?

I like the N26s I have as surround speakers.

They have come out with a new version of the Northbridges (all the N series now have a II after the number). They are virtually the same thing but with the JBL badge moved or the enclosure modified a little. I think the new N26's have a wooden box now (or was it the N28's?). Phil I. (I think it was him) did a little comparison and said they sound almost identical though...
