HI guys,
I have a JBL NSP1 5.1 system and just bought a pioneer 811s.
I am planning to upgrade the mains to N26II OR N28II so I can have a 7.1 system. My question is it ok mix up series II with series I and since my receiver only outputs only 70 or 75watts at fullbandwidth, should I be concerened about under powering the N26II(125 WATTS), N28II(150 WATTS).
Thanks a bunch.
Melvin :)

... should I be concerened about under powering the N26II(125 WATTS), N28II(150 WATTS).
You listed the Speaker MAX Watt Rating = Maximum Recommended Amplifier Power Rating, or in other words, ... you can safely use a 125W x5 or x6 AV Receiver for the N26II, etc.
To determine if your AV Receiver is underpowered to run your speakers, you should look @ the Speaker Sensitivity Rating.
So, for example, if you look @ the N26II Sensitivity (2.83V @ 1m): 88dB Rating, you can use a simple Watt vs. SPL chart to determine the minimum RMS Watt x5 / or x6 AV Receiver you could choose.
RULES
SPL = To HEAR an Audible Increase in loudness, the SPL source must increase by 3 dB min.
Watts = To Increase SPL by 3 dB would require Doubling the power output ( Watts x 2 )
Watts/SPL
1........88 - JBL N26II Sensitivity Rating
2........91
4........94
8........97
16.......100
32.......103
64.......106
128.......109
So, ... at the very least, choose an honestly rated 64 watt x5 or x6 AV Receiver - your Pioneer 811 is fine!
For a more accurate SPL figure, use C.M.Collins excellent SPL Calculator!
