JBL N Center vs N Center II (1 Viewer)

Dumb question. Any differences between these? I have the N Center, and my neighbor is debating N vs NII, as there's a great deal locally on remaining N Centers. I thought the difference was only cosmetic.

Any help much appreciated.

The differences are ONLY cosmetic, and very minimal at that. The reason JBL released the II series of it's Northridge and Studio lines was because they lost a patent infringement lawsuit to bose because of the design of their ports. The ports were redesigned ever so slightly and the cosmetics were changed minimally for the release of the II series. There would be no reason to buy the II series while the originals are still available.

I'm currently running N28 mains, N24 surrounds, N24 rear surrounds, and a N-Center in a 7.1 setup with my Pioneer VSX-D811S and love it. I considered N28s all around, but the N28s were just to big for surround duty.
