I was wondering if there is anywhere else to get the JBL N38 close to this price where the shipping isn't close to $30.00.

Ordered the N38 from Buy.com, did not realize that it was one speaker and not a set. Ordered the 2nd speaker, it arrives damages. Buy.com is out of stock and can not get anymore from the mfg.

Ordered N28 to use as rear speakers and was going to order JBL NCenter channel.

Would like to keep the N38 but want to find a mate so that my speakers match.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Gabriel, Jeff,

I wanted to thank you for the information. We bought the N38 from Spectravox.com and the NCenter from BestPriceAudioVideo.com.

I just wanted to let you know now all I need is a Denon Amp (only brand amp husband will buy) with 5.1.

    Gabriel,
I really don't know all that much about electronics. That's my husbands job.
This is a list of what we have and what he wants.
He included 2 sub's, because he hasn't decided which he would prefer.

At $695 + shipping (about $25) from a Denon authorized e-tailer, the AVR3802 is not a bad buy at all. You definitely want to buy from an authorized retailer or etailer, because Denon is very picky about it. Some Denon service centers will still service your unit if purchased in an unauthorized place, but I've been hearing more and more will no longer.

For that kind of money, you can definitely find a better subwoofer. I used to have a JBL PSW-D112 subwoofer (12" 250 watt), and it was reasonably nice but definitely not worth that kind of money. I'm now on a 1000 watt 15" subwoofer (Infinity HPS-1000) that costed $450 plus shipping. There's a huge difference.

You may want to look into the HSU VTF-2 or VTF-3 if you want to spend the extra money. There's also the Infinity IL120 (12" 500 watt) for about $350 from uBid.
