I have a JBL E250P subwoofer and it is giving me issues:

-When I play sound, it works just fine.
-However, when I stop playing music, it will NOT go into standby mode. If I turn it off, and then back off, it stays in standby, then turns on automatically!
-I unplugged the RCA cables from the sub (JUST the power cord going in), and it did the same thing!
-I can hear a VERY faint buzzing coming from the woofer!

    Not good at all.

I got this guy from JBL directly as a vendor accomodation, so I will be dealing with them.

What do you think the issue is?

Also, do you think JBL trusts my mAd $k1llz to pull out just the plate amp and send it to them? I don't want to pay serious cash to ship this back to Northridge.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ken,
Sorry to hear about your problems , and sorry I can`t help. But I do thank you for your post , I was just over to JBL`s web site and gave them a look , but I think I`ll cross them off my list.
If you talk to them and explain your situation , they should just let you take the electronics out and mail it to them for repair.
I wish you "good luck" and hope you get it fixed soon.
BTW--Have you heard anything , about Axiom subs ?
    Thanks

I would not say cross JBL off your list, just realize they make some sh!t along with some of the WORLDS BEST SPEAKERS BAR NONE.

Axiom is good, but if you can swing the cash for a SVS, do so. You will NOT be dissapointed. Whats your budget?

    Hi Ken,
Thanks for the advice , I would like to keep it around 1K.
I figure that should get me something that will "rattle" the floor boards LOL.
I have a Velodyne F1200 and it`s A-OK with music , but when it comes to some of the newer DD & DTS sound tracks it just can`t make the grade [IMG] .
It only has a 100W amp , thats probly why.
I would like to sell it , any idea what it would be worth ?
At the time , it was a great sub even with AC-3 LD`s but they just keep pushing the bass waayyyy down.
The new Star Wars all sound great , but I was watching The Alamo , and she "tripped" a couple of times. If that was the only movie I could live with it but have several that are not " Velodyne --compatable" .
It`s almost like it`s starving for power.
My amp is the Yammy DSP-A1 G , and the rest of my speakers are all Ref Series "Boston Acoustic`s" , except for my front effects those are the BA "HD" series.

I`ed love to , but it`s to deep [IMG] [IMG] , realy.
I have enough room for a 20" deep sub and thats it.
I had my eye on the new Axiom EP500

What are your thoughts on that one ?
    Thanks

Thanks for the advice Ken , the PB1 is on my list as well. [IMG]
That PC-Plus would sound sweet as well , but I also have a hight limit.
Here`s the deal , I built a "subwoofer" stand/table and the space for a sub is about 20 X 20 X 20 . Above that is a set of draws that holds alot of my Sp Ed DVD [IMG].
I think I`ll post that link , thanks for the tip [IMG]
