I guess this goes without saying but this movie was a lot of fun for Jay and Silent Bob fans.
I had wondered, since Smith's last few films have really been hit and miss, mostly miss. Red State was pretty great until the final reel. Tusk was an interesting idea that never lived up to its promise. Yoga Hosers was... let us not speak of Yoga Hosers.

Outside of "Chasing Amy," all of Kevin Smiths' films have been crap.

But that's my opinion. I know others love his stuff.

Clerks, his first film, was terrific. Chasing Amy and Clerks are his 2 best films, and in my opinion, none of his other films come close
(Zack And Miri Make A Porno wasn’t bad).

I appreciate that Clerks II takes on more adult themes like aging, maturity and finding a place to fit in the world - it has jokes galore but it’s ultimately a movie about growing up, and learning to embrace what makes you feel happy and whole instead of focusing on what other people think you should want. It’s a remarkably mature work hidden within a very entertaining comedy.

I'm a big fan of almost all of his movies (Yoga Hosers ain't exactly great) and while Clerks and Chasing Amy are the movies that people cite as his best, I think Clerks II is fantastic.

My favorite Kevin Smith movie, But I have a feeling Kevin Smith will craft an even better film in Clerks 3:

Kevin Smith--
"It’ll be a movie that concludes a saga. It’ll be a movie about how you’re never too old to completely change your life. It’ll be a movie about how a decades-spanning friendship finally confronts the future. It’ll be a movie that brings us back to the beginning – a return to the cradle of civilization in the great state of #newjersey. It’ll be a movie that stars Jeff and Brian O’Halloran, with me and Jay in supporting roles. And it’ll be a movie called CLERKS III! To be great is to go on. To go on is to go far. To go far is to return. And we’re all gonna return to the scene of the crime! This won’t be the old script we almost made a few years back: this is a completely new screenplay that I just started writing last night! And so far, it’s like a dream come true!"
