The 2496 is a great card if you're doing SPDIF out. If you're doing analog out, as I am, it's a no go, not enough channels. MAudio has new multichannel card called the Revolution which is specifically targeted at the HTPC market, but it has its own share of problems. I think for now sticking with the Delta 410 is my best bet and I will continue to hope for an API. The sound quality is great, and as long as I use high gain amps I shouldn't have a problem.
