    Damn...too bad.
I was flipping through my Maltin book this very evening and read the Affliction review, where it mentions his Oscar victory. "Good for him," I thought. "He deserved one." I thought that thought not one hour ago. And now he's dead. [IMG]

Shocking news to say the least. I'd love someone to release the movie in which he plays the President's analyst.

I remember his cameo role in "The Muppet Movie"...he played a drunkard that Kermit The Frog ran into outside the El Sleezo.

Coburn was a fine actor...he will be missed.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

Is it just me, or has 2002 been one of the biggest years for deaths of people in the public eye?

What a blow! I just saw him in The Man From Elysian Fields and was thinking about how good he looked and what a good role it was for him.
The Man From Elysian Fields is in (some) theaters now. In Chicago it's playing at the River East 21. I'd urge any Coburn fan who can, to go see it. It's a good movie, and he's good in it. A very worthy last film.
How sad. Goodbye to a fine man and actor.

The last movie I saw with him in it was "Monsters, Inc." I also liked him in "Eraser". He will be sadly missed...

He's gone to see his old friend Bruce. Soon they will be sparring again just like in the old days and having a good time. Quite a legacy he left us. He's one of those actors that seem like they've been making movies forever.

as James would say "peace my friend!"

Derek Flint is dead, doesn't seem possible, really sad news.
One of the greats. Coburn starred in many of my favorite films. I'll watch the two Flint movies this weekend.
    RIP Jim.[IMG]
