It's not a matter of brain cells.

"Dr. No." through "Die Another Day" are controlled by Fox. Sony only owns the rights to "Casino Royale".

Why would Sony send a merchandiser to stores that buries their high-profile title among several competing Bond titles from another distributor?

The coupon book was mailed out last month, but you can always check with customer service to see if there are extras.

Well, it's not really a Woody Allen movie since he only has a scene at the beginning and pops up again at the end. More like a David Niven/Peter Sellers movie. [IMG]

I noticed that in honor of the release of CASINO ROYALE this week, some mass marketers like K-Mart and Circuit City are selling some of the single disc releases (GOLDFINGER, THUNDERBALL) for $7. You don't get many of the extras but you do get the new transfers.

They're $7.99 at my local Circuit City, which is the same promo price they had last month when the single discs were first released. I got GF, TB, FYEY and TSWLM. Hopefully, they'll have the next set of singles at the same price (or lower) when they come out- whenever that is. I think there are 9 more Bond films that I want to get (all the rest of the Moore/Connery ones).

But good 'ol Best Buy has 'em for $9.99 ! [IMG] I'm starting to dislike that store.

I would keep an eye out on stores that do used dvds. I found 2 of the bond sets for 24 bucks used and in pretty good condition.. even had all of the booklets with it.

Check ebay and their affiliate site, half.com, for some great deals on new, unopened Ultimate sets. I got all 4 from half.com, 3 of which I paid $28 for and the 4th for $25. Shipping was no more than $2.50 or so for Media Mail, and I received each of them within 7 days.

I wonder, will these boxed sets be going OOP soon, to be replaced by the one-disc editions?

Interesting as I work my way thru the sets in chronilogical order, that the new the films get the worst they look, all the connery's look pretty decent, but some of the Early Moore films don't look great. Of course some of it could be intentional, Live and Let Die looks as any Blaxiplotation film of the era would look. I thought The Spy who loved me had some horrendous Edge enhancement, especially in the First half, it tends to get better later on. Still compared to From Russia, Dr No and Goldfinger it's like I'm watching a different set.

One thing I am Impressed with is that they got Moore to do new commentaries on most of his films, what a good Sport his is, and what a good ambassadore for the franchise, I don't see Connery or any of the others doing the same.

Here is, in my honest and humble opinion, the true James Bond number 20, Everything or Nothing. Pierce Brosnan should've had this as his last film and Casino Royale as film 22. At least it's a video game. Oh, well.[IMG]

    Part one

    Part two

    Part three

    Part four

    Enjoy.

If your wife bought it at Amazon less than 30 days ago, they should give you a price adjustment refund.[IMG]

Uh, I'm afraid this thread is a little overwhelming... Is there already a "definitive list" on here of which movies are better, worse and the jury's still out? Are all the special features from the previous sets included?

    Thanks
