Maybe I am getting cheap but even though I have an XBOX, PS2 and Gambecube I have had a real problem paying $50 lately for video games unless it's something I think I really can't live with out.

So, when I saw Jack and Daxter in the Best Buy ad for $20 as part of Sony's greatest hits line I ran out and picked up a copy of a great game I passed on when it was first released. Man this game really is good. I have only played for about an hour so far but I am really impressed with the game play, graphics and sound.

I wish that Nintendo and Microsoft would have a similar low price "hits" line.

I've only seen a trailer for it but I dig the voice characterization of Daxter (or is it Jax?, the one who was turned from human into the fox-like creature). Very appealing and funny.

This is one of my favorite platformers of all time, right up there with Rayman 2 and Mario 64. If you haven't played this one yet, for 19.95 it's worth it even for those who are scared of the "kiddy" theme.

PS2 seems to be cranking out these repriced titles faster now, and that makes me a happy gamer indeed! [IMG]

    Same here Randy.
    I also give J&D a [IMG] .
Picked up a used copy shortly after its releases.
I was driven to play through & find every secret.
I thought the graphics were among the very best I had seen on PS2.
My son was playing it again recently & I still think it looks great.
    Really colorful, & slick looking.
The game is charming, has nice diverse game play & level design, & has pretty darn tight control.
    Well worth $20.
I think there are just soooooo many titles for the PS2 that it is easier for Sony to offer discount games.
It would indeed be nice if the others follow suit though.

Jak and Daxter was my first PS2 game and is still my favorite. Everyone should go buy it immediately -- it's a steal for $20.

Didn't realize it got put on the greatest hits. At least, the packaging doesn't seem to indicate it. I was under the impression that Best Buy was just running a sale. Circuit City doesn't seem to list it as 19.95. Either way, I picked it up last Sunday, and pretty much wasted all of my free time until yesterday beating it and getting all of the power cells. There's a couple of orbs that I haven't gotten yet, not sure if I'm going to bother with them or not. I thought it was a very good game overall, but could have used some more bosses. I liked how all the 'levels' were one big connected world, rather than split into levels like most platformers. Maybe I'll pick up the Crash Bandicoot game when that goes on sale next week for 19.95.

Jak and Daxter was one of the last games I actually finished. It's a very good game and well worth $20.00. Speaking of game prices I try to get them used if at all possible. However, a new title like SMS I couldn't pass up...
