Does anyone know for sure if the IXOS 206 Banana Plug is the same as the Vampire Wire 558 Banana Plug? They both appear to be made by the same manufacturer. I *believe* these are the same connectors used by Bettercables on their speaker wire products.
The reason I ask is that I am going to re-terminate my surround cables. I am presently using AR Professional in-wall 14/4 cable, wired as 11/2, with Esoteric compression type bananas. I am concerned about long-term oxidation, and want to solder my wire and then use a inset screw-type banana's for an extra solid connection. Accessories4less.com seems to have a very good price on the IXOS 206 Banana Plugs ($9.95 for two pairs).
    Any thoughts?
    TIA
    Pete
