Well after 1 week and not a whole lot of use, it looks like my 47wx53 has popped--smal snap and everything is blue tinted. Oddly though, the menu looks o.k., but the movie (Temple of Doom) is definitely blue (and definitely blew). Anyway, the question is do I have this set fixed, get a new one of the same model or something different. I only paid $1200, so there's not much else in that price range. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Since you've only had the set for one week, I would call the dealer you purchased it from and see if they'll send a tech out to fix the set.

Get a tech to do it or fix it yourself by venturing into the service menu. Takes about 3 minutes once you are in there.
