I am happy for you folks that want this on 4k UHD, but I just wish they would continue releasing the specials that have never made it to DVD instead of re-releasing the same sets every year in various format. If they had continued the decades sets, we could have them all by now.

I second that; wish they'd bring back the decades releases.

Yes, I'm not sure which franchise has been treated crappier, Peanuts or Scooby-Doo.
With both franchises, I have double-, triple-, and quadruple-dipped to get a single cartoon or special.
Oh how I wish I was not OCD with my "completist" tendencies. lol

Would a UHD release of a Peanuts TV special really show any benefit?

Edit: I looked it up on ImDB. I would have figured nothing more than 16mm stock for TV specials; however, it apparently was shot on 35mm, so maybe a UHD release might show some modest improvement.

So is this the theoretical maximum resolution for titles like this that were shot in 35mm?

This special is on abc this evening. I’m watching even though I have the blu ray.

I believe it is probably my favorite of the Peanuts specials. The Christmas one is special because it was the first, but this one had all the voices down to a science and is smoother and more atmospheric.

The Christmas one is my top favorite. The soundtrack is frequently played in November and December.

I'm just glad classic animation is being considered for UHD. When I finally upgrade my display, which won't be for a while yet, this will be one of the first things I get.
