    Excellent news! [IMG] [IMG]

Too bad we don't have more details at this stage. Will it be 2D, or 2.5D like Klonoa 2? Or something else entirely?

    Great, great news! [IMG]

My bet is that it will be a Klonoa-esque 2D game. Expectations will be high for this one.

Yeah I'd expect 2.5D as well (like Contra: Shattered Soldier). Hopefully they implement some sort of 2 player mode too!

Considering who's handling the project, I'm more than optimistic.

Great news. I'm hoping for a 2D game, but will take a Contra-esque 2D game in a heartbeat.

Checking out the Gamers.com article, they mentioned a quote from the director about what direction he wants to go in. Based on that, I'm guessing it'll be 2.5D or something between that and 3D.

Also, the game takes place in Transylvania.

Following the latest showing of "The New King of Racing Games", this is the best news to come along in a long while.

Too bad it's not going to be a straight 2D, side-scrolling affair (graphically, that is) but I guess you can't have it all.

It's starting to look like this E3 could beat last year's.

This is fantastic news. SotN is one of my favorite games of all time - if this new one is even a fraction as good, I'll be in heaven. It's reassuring to know that the same producer will be working on the new Castlevania. By the way, SotN had an absolutely incredible soundtrack. Truly an all-time great.

In the New EGM, they list it as not known whether it will be 2-d or 3-d. However the new producer says a 3-d will work, it just hasnt been done right so far. I dunno. He also hints a 2-d I think. I wish it was 2-d with 3-d thrown in some ALA Contra SS.

It's going to be something like Pandemonium from what I've been told, i.e. everything is 3D but the gameplay is locked into 2D on twisting and turning paths (a step beyond Contra SS).

The game will not be traditional 2D, sadly.
