Is FiOS actually displaying content, or is it still a test pattern?
Color bars for now, but programming is shown on the guide from Sat. morning on.Originally Posted by Steve Tannehill /t/322434/its-not-blu-ray-but-panasonic-and-nbc-are-going-to-have-over-240-hours-of-3d-olympic-coverage#post_3952747

It looks like they have graduated to a logo and start date on-screen. The format is side-by-side, so I suspect it is 3D, but I can't tell on this particular TV.Larry Geller said:Color bars for now, but programming is shown on the guide from Sat. morning on.
Some TV's convert automatically after being given a first setup signal, some convert SBS and T2B manually (my Panny Viera does), and some don't convert SBS at all, and only play the disk formats--What's your make?Steve Tannehill said:It looks like they have graduated to a logo and start date on-screen. Hey roomate,Chas in CT said:Got my Xfinity 3-D up and running.
The call to Comcast took longer than it probably should have, but the woman helping me had a little trouble figuring out whether I could do the setup myself with what I already had in hardware, or whether I needed a 3-D adapter and, if so, whether I could pick one up at the local office or she'd have to send an installer to do it all. FORTUNATELY, it worked out that the HD box I have didn't require anything additional, and she sent the signal to give me access to the channels. Another big time suck was because they make absolutely sure that you really do have a 3-D TV, know how to set it up, activate it, and use it. I know this is essential for the populace at large, so I had to be patient and convince her, one step at a time, that I was indeed ready to go with everything.
They have you watch a 3-minute video, and as soon as that ended I changed the TV input to "side by side" (Comcast also uses "top-bottom" on some material), and there it was, looking fine.
I'm posting all that just in case it's of any help to anyone, or inspiring them to take the plunge. Looking forward to some Olympics now.
It was a bit of a coin flip as its really more specific to 3D.....Originally Posted by Sam Posten /t/322434/its-not-blu-ray-but-panasonic-and-nbc-are-going-to-have-over-240-hours-of-3d-olympic-coverage/30#post_3954330
Not to bust Adam's chops but why isn't this in the TV programming forum?
Channel 1703 has it starting at 5am and ending 5pm Saturday so that would be a tape delay, since the opening ceremonies are Friday.Chas in CT said:Channel 1703, and there's a 3-D section in On Demand that I had no idea was there.
Yes, there are some free 3-D On Demand but that's the same stuff they rotate on 1703.Chas in CT said:BTW, watch out for those On Demand selections. The movies cost $7.99. They have free movies and some other stuff, too, none of which I've begun to explore yet.
