Howdy,

As some of you may know Ive been looking into getting a new Display Device; The 2 I have broken down to are the following...

Panasonic AE-500 Projector $2700.00
100 Inch Screen $850.00
Panasonic AE-500

NEC Plasma Screen $6200.00
NEC PlasmaSync 42Vp4

Now besides the obvious Price difference. What would be the best option?

100 Inc Screen VS 106 Crystal Clear Screen
Nightime Viewing only VS All Day Viewing
Cinema Feel VS Home Theatre
Replacement Globs VS 20,000 to 30,000 Hours Life

Any Advice?

It shouldn't be too hard to predict the consensus answers... it seems as though we're all fairly well established into our 'camps.'

Get the front projector; the only plasmas in that size range worth looking at (in terms of picture) are in the US$15-$18,000 range.

...

on a different subject, having just replaced a long overdue lamp at work, sometimes you can get as if a whole new projector has been installed by changing the lamp...

Get the projector & screen, and get a Panny 42" ED plasma for $2900 daytime viewing, if you have that kind of cash! Best of both worlds! :)

(I wanted my plasma, but got an X1 for projection - boy does it kick ass. But we don't watch much in the daytime, as we are night people).
