Just a friendly reminder that "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is back tonight on FX. This show is now on season 4. Personally, I didn't think it would last this long, but I am glad it has.

The two episodes tonight are as follows:

Mac & Dennis: Manhunters

Can't wait. Funniest show currently on TV AFAIC (well, at the very least 2nd only to South Park)

According to Wikipedia:

On July 15th, 2008, it was reported that FX has ordered 39 additional episodes of the series, on top of the 13 being developed for Season 4. Which, according to IGN, means that the show will run until a sixth season at least. All five main cast members were secured for the entire scheduled run.

The Mac & Dennis: Manhunters episode was just really bizarre.
Maybe just a little over the top with the whole eating human meat thing.
And it is funny how they just keep torturing Cricket.

The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis was okay
but I really didn't like how it was wrapped up.
I loved the part where they wanted to return the gas the bought.

The whole thing with Charlie doing the Texas accent (but sounding more like Foghorn Leghorn) had me in tears. Then again, pretty much everything Charlie does has me in tears.

Thrilled that...

...there will be a return of Green Man this season.

I thought "...Manhunters" was totally solid, if extremely bizzare, but "...Gas Crisis" had me in tears the whole way through. It did a great job of escalating the situation step by step leading to a van full of gasoline and no brakes, much like the best "Seinfeld" episodes used to do. And Danny DeVito has to be the best utilized stunt casting ever; he's just a regular part of the show now, with no more or less screen time than anybody else.

I just mildly liked this episode.
I thought it was funny with Dee trying to do all of her characters.
And if you look at youtube, someone has already done a stupid video
under patheticgirl43. It's not even the real video, or anything close to it.

Mac's Banging the Waitress
A much better episode even though Dee and Frank weren't in it.
There's something really weird with Mac and his sexual exploits, where he wants to secretly do Charlie and/or Dennis.

And if you can freeze frame it on Denni's VHS sex tapes library, it's funny how he has them labeled, by name and what race they are and sometimes what place of business she works at.

It was also funny how Dennis likes to shoot his sex tapes, which according to Mac, is the horrible porno angle that is all balls and male ass.

Still loving the show, but is anyone starting to get worried that the show is starting to border on self parody? I'd have to watch again and pay attention to season one, but I was starting to think that the characters are becoming too......"cartoony" For example, take Charlie, when the show first started, sure he was dim-witted, but by now the show has made him pretty much full on retarded and mentally disturbed. Take Dee, the self proclaimed liberal doing "on the street" interviews as blatantly racist caracatures. I was suspecting this a bit, but then my brother today said the same thing to me today. Still probably my favorite show currently on TV though.

There might be some validity to that, but it seems like most comedies fall into that trap. Even 'The Office' has to a degree. But perhaps it just seems that way when you watch a show for a long time. Like you said, maybe we need to watch the early episodes again to see for sure.

Season One was a lot less broad and zany, but the show's been pretty consistent since Danny DeVito joined the cast at the beginning of season two. I really enjoyed the first season (the abortion episode is still one of the most politically incorrect things I've ever seen) but I really enjoy the show as is too.

One of my biggest complaints with the first episode was that Charlie could composite Green Man into the YouTube video. And was the second episode the first time we've seen Dennis and Mac's apartment? We've seen a lot of Charlie and Dee's respective apartments, but I can't recall off the top of my head seeing that one.

Overall, not as good as last week's pair, but still pretty much the funniest thing on television.

We've seen Mac's bedroom in "Mac is a Serial Killer" but I don't recall seeing any more of the apartment. I didn't even know that Mac and Dennis shared an apartment. Was that brought up before?

I thought that these two ep's were mediocre at best. They were some very funny stuff but over all I wasn't wowed by them.

These may be my least favorite ep's of the whole series.

I guess when you have a show that is so good all of the time the expectation is that each ep is going to be on point.

After 4 years I guess we're bound to have a couple of these.

Not my favorite episode, mainly because I've never been a fan of Artemis. But it still had more laugh-out-loud moments than any other show I watch, and I do think the Waitress is hilarious off the wagon.

I have never been a big fan of scat humor, but I did find some of the scenes funny. Especially the waitress squatting over Dee's purse.

I always end up feeling sorry for Dee. Everyone treats her like a piece of scat and this week, that is literally.

I thought last week's episode was bad. But this week's is an instant classic.
