Here's a unique promotion at half.com:
And what if your first name is Parker? Does our HTF co-owner Parker Clack get no discount?! Let's get with the program, half.com!
Could be worse, what if he were Parker Peter? Would he still get nothing?
(okay, I guess Peters is a more likely last name but you get it)
This deal is awful! Unless you had very enthusiastic Spidey fans for parents or you were luckily born with either the name Peter or Parker, you have to pay full price?Couldn't you just answer a few Spidey trivia questions?
Can't wait to see the "Anakin" "Skywalker" and "Frodo" "Baggins" deals!
Thanx Glenn, I just made a legal name change, though it won't be reflected here at HTF for a bit.
Is that legal to do that type of deal? It doesn't exactly seem fair.
I don't know why it wouldn't be legal. They should be able to do whatever they want. Life's not always fair, and I would think something like this should be beyond the concern of the law.
Now, off to change my name to David Banner to get ready for the next promotion ...
Just something quirky for publicity I guess. Actually, their normal price of $15.99 is a pretty good one to start with.
It's name discrimination! Then again, if they didn't discriminate there could be no deal at all, since I doubt they could afford to give everybody a free DVD.
Anyway, mine is on preorder from Amazon at a very good price too.
Spiderman for $10.99? Woohoo! This is probably the first time I've been truly happy to have my name.
Heck, I'll give it a shot!
(I just hope they allow for distinction between the PnS and Widescreen versions!)
