Is this the end for "That 70's Show"? (1 Viewer)

I know we've only got a week until the fall schedules are announced, but I'm just wondering if anyone has heard if "That 70's Show" is returning. It seems like they are wrapping up storylines with Donna and Eric getting married and Fez facing deportation.

Also, they used to put dates on the show, but they stopped, but it has to be at least '79, so they can't stay in the 70's forever.

I wish that Fox hadn't done that lame "80's Show" a couple of years back, they could have just continued "70's Show" with the cast in young adulthood and called it "That 80's Show."

Any thoughts?

I pretty sure "That 70's Show" is returning next year - it hasn't shown up on any of those "dead show" or "on the bubble" lists.
The kids and Laurie go camping for one final blowout, oversleep and miss graduation. Hyde and Kelso demand that Jackie choose between them once and for all. And Fez is heartbroken that he has to leave America.

BTW, check out the episode guide on the official site. Every episode title this season has been a Led Zeppelin song title. And they all actually work with the episode's plots as well. Very

It's one of the highest rated shows on Fox. The only reason it wouldn't return was if the cast or producers pulled the plug.

I once read that even though they'll eventually get into the 80's on the show, the title would stay the same...

I don't think it's going anywhere.

Actually, I think That 70's Show is already renewed for next year - it got a two-year order at the end of last season, IIRC.

I hope it stays, this has been a show with amazing consistency as far as quality goes. Nice to see Laurie back too (I guess she kicked her drug addiction?).

It was a shocker to see Laurie. I kept wondering if this was an older episode when I saw her.

It's a strange thing that they kicked her off for drug use, yet nearly every episode has a scene where the cast members sit around a table and smoke grass. That's about my only complaint with the series.

The kicked her off because she became non-functional. If she had been a highly functional drug user, they would have kept her on the show. In a sense, hardly anybody in hollywood is fired for drug using, just for being non-functional.

If a supporting character on Cheers was an alcoholic and started missing work, and rehab failed, the producers would have fired them. Would it then be hypocritical for the show to continue to feature beer drinking?

Thanks for all the thoughts. I knew that I hadn't heard any talk of cancellation, I just woke up this morning thinking about how it looked like they could be bringing it to a close. I just noticed the Led Zeppelin song title thing this morning myself.

That's GRASS?!? Wowie Zowie, who knew! ;)

They sent her packing for substance abuse. "Use" is a good thing...there is a difference.

I always thought it would be cool if the show ended on new years eve 1979 at the stroke of midnight.

The cast could be in Eric's basement and at the stroke of midnight the screen just goes black while you hear Kelso ask "Dude, what happened to the light's!?" and you hear Eric respond "Welcome to the eighties."

The End.

I thought that would be a good ending.

I also think that the show should come to an end after the 70's are over. If they tried to carry it over to the 80's it wouldn't really be that different of a show, the first couple of years of the 80's looked alot like the 70's, it took awhile for things to start changing.

There would be no novelty in carrying over to the 80's.

When this show goes off the air I will sob like a little girl. It's one of my favorites.

I'm sorry but this is the 70's and smoking "grass" was a big part of the 70's and to me is one the funniest part of the show. It seems to me the writers are just setting things up for some real cliffhangers for the end of the season.

PITTSBURGH (May 14) - Tommy Chong, who played one half of the dope-smoking duo in Cheech and Chong movies, pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to sell drug paraphernalia.

Chong also pleaded guilty Tuesday on behalf of his business, Nice Dreams Enterprises, which made a line of marijuana bongs and pipes. Doing business as Chong Glass, Nice Dreams Enterprises sold glass pipes and bongs that Chong acknowledged were used to smoke marijuana.

Lost the last minute or so of tonight's show. Someone had just made a genicide ganja gag and then Fez made his announcement, Red started having pains in his arm...and my screen went blank.
What happened?
