I'm considering 4 projectors for my first purchase. The Panny 300, Hitachi Home-1, Epson Home-10, and the upcoming Infocus 4805. To any current owners of these, do you think a 54"X96" screen will be too big? The room is 12'X17'and will be totally dark. Thanks.

Depends on your seating distance. If you can sit back about 16 ft, i think the picture quality will be fine. Also the projectors you have chosen are pretty much entry level projectors...my point there are not very bright. So your throw distance will also be very important as well as ambient light. Hope this helps.

I have the Panny PT-L300U and have a 68 inch wide screen. I am able to sit in the middle of a 12X16 room for best ambient sound. Picture at that distance is great with no visible scan lines and good brightness in the darkened room. I am afraid you will wind up sitting in the back of your room with a screen 96 inches wide. I would not go wider than 84 inches.
