Ok I have my creative sound card connected to my HT receiver through a coaxial connection. Previously (like a week ago) I was getting 192 khz and my receiver said that it could use left right center surround left surround right. Now, I can only get 96 khz and my receiver only uses Left and Right speakers. I know for sure that my sound card can get 192 khz because it says so in the manual.

I'm not quite sure how an SPDIF connection works, but I think some software is restricting the audio output to 96 khz. I have a feeling it is this stupid creative software. I have messed with a lot of the creative settings to no avail.

If anybody can help I would very much appreciate it

I would ditch the creative software and get something different and known to be good.

I agree. I usually hate first party applications. Anybody got any recommendations for good audio output tool? Also, how does a computer determine what khz to output?

    Merry Christmas
