I have my TV, DVD and CD player connected to an H/K AVR 5 receiver. All connections are analogue with the CD connected via an Acoustic Research audio cables. The rest of the equipment are connected via RCA audio cables.

Here's the problem: while playing a CD, I can hear the track when I switch sources to say TV (Video 1), VCR (Video 2), DVD and T.MON (Tape monitor). All these sources are set to Prologic. Altough this is not apparent at low to moderate volumes I can hear the songs, albeit with some hiss, when the volume is turned all the way, and to the full position.

Is this normal or an indicator of bad processor? Should I send the receiver for repairs? It's still under warranty. All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

It’s called crosstalk, and it’s pretty normal for equipment these days, even some of the more expensive stuff.
