Does every thread in this area have to turn into a system-bashing flame war with personal insults?
This is embarassing.

Agreed. I don't envy you moderators, as there will probably be some bannings before long at the rate this is going.

ALL PLEASE NOTE:
I want to apologize for moments ago closing Dean and Todd's threads for the very reasons noted above. I am hoping to re-open them at a later date once various issues have been dealt with.
The actions of some members in those threads will not be tolerated. This may be a smaller section for discussion on the HTF, but like the After Hours Lounge, it does not mean one can get away with murder and the forum rules still apply to all.
Regards,

Thanks Dan,
I enjoy a good debate just as much as the next guy, but if the arguments aren't constructive it just turns the thread in to a worthless mud flinging match.

I'm sorry if I am guilty of this myself. I try to put my point of view out there and let others respond, but sometimes it does turn into a mud slinging match. In order to combat this, I suggest we do a chat somewhere with a bunch of the people who frequent this board (and the Gamind Software board) and we talk about these things in real-time instead of on these boards and waste the time of the moderators. Just my thoughts.
Thanks for doing a great job moderators!

Thanks Dan.
I agree Dean. The mud slinging that has been going on is just not needed here. One of the things I like best about this place is that adults can get together and debate various topics without resorting to name-calling. Good job moderators, although I don't envy you!

Good post. Big upps to the moderators. This is the only forum that has discussion about games, rather than arguments and/or flame wars regarding games. I think we should be able to keep it that way. System wars seem to bring out the fanboys in all of us.

Michael, good post.
Dan,you did the right thing. I don't envy your job,and I respect what you do. Thanks!
Sometimes, we all need to take a deep breath and count to 10. This is a great place to talk about games, and I don't want this to turn into a flame-only place.

All,
Please also see Mike's thread here in Gaming Hardware.

I'm rather proud of you for saying that, Morgan. You seem one to rise to debate at times when it's just not worth it. If you can control yourself and just ingore situations when a thread is on the verge of breaking into an argument, it's better for everyone, and I am glad you yourself see this.

You can do so if you truly feel you must, but we've often got a good thing going here, would you not agree, Morgan?
We get some intelligent and lively discussions going which I enjoy reading and taking part in. Running off to a live chat room is as if to say "we cant argue here, lets take it somewhere where we can!" We shouldn't be arguing at all! It is within us, we who post in the gaming forums, to keep this a clean, fun, interesting and intelligent section for discussion on the HTF.

I agree completely. I started a simple thread a couple of days back about the Nintendo delaying the GC. It was closed after a "mud flinging" match started. Regardless I enjoy the gaming forums on this site very much and participate because, for the most part it is a very constructive forum. Glad to see someone is paying attention.
