I've noticed tons of "Volume 1,2,3,4" CD's or "Volume 2 & 4" CD's on eBay, but I have a suspicion they are boots (they each seem to include an entire Tom Petty album as part of the "rare tracks"). I have heard two different releases of outtakes and they sound horrible - muddy, warbled, missing high end. Is there such a thing as a CD which contains clean-sounding Wilbury tracks not on the commercial "Volume 1" and "Volume 3" albums? If so, what is the source?

Sit tight. According to an interview with Barbara Orbison, re-issues of the Traveling Wilburys albums are coming this fall. In the interview, she says "a comprehensive package of audio and video recordings" is coming before the end of the year.

    Here is the whole article:

And yes, the other CDs you cite are unofficial releases.

Don't buy these on ebay. These boots are traded and if you look, you can find them and they won't cost you anthing.

    You are wise, grasshopper. [IMG]

EDIT: My local Half Price Books has both Vols. 1 and 3 (legit) for $35 each, if anyone is looking for them. Is that better than the Ebay price?

Why not wait for the re-issues this fall, which are bound to have extra material?
