Is there a DVD player that hooks up to a Hard drive? I have a external hard drive with some mp3 and avi files on it. I was wondering if any DVD players have a usb port that the Hard drive could plug into so it can play the mp3s or avi files? basically act as a media player.

You may want to check out the LG lrm-519 dvd recorder. You can hook up an external drive for extra storace and it include a media reciever (wired or wireless) that will allow you to play files of your pc.

Another option is the Philips DVP5960.

Linksys makes a media server that might be more in line with what you're looking for
