I'm just curious as I may buy one of these. The 682 looks to be the same as the 1602 only cheaper in cost. What's the deal?

The 1602/1802/2802/3802/4802/5800 is Denon's premium line and can only be sold/purchased by authorized dealers.

The 682/782/982/1082 are part of the "home theater series" and can be purchased/sold by retailers that are not authorized Denon dealers.

I believe the specs are the same, just the model number is changed.

If you download the 1602 manual from Denon's site you'll see it's also the manual for the 682.

you'll probably get a higher resale value with the 1602
