Something along the lines of the Internet Movie Database, but for music (records, LP's, etc.) Something where I could look up any song and find the album, the artist, whatever.

If anyone can provide a link that would be great. Thanks!

Not exactly the same thing, but I generally use CDnow.com to lookup songs/albums/artists. They have a huge inventory so just about everything is in their database.

    Thanks for the links!

Unfortunately I still can't find what I'm looking for. When I was a kid in the early 70's, we had this LP of Revolutionary War-themed songs. Among them were songs titled "The Continental Soldier", "Deborah Sampson" and "Henry Knox". This album got lost in the sea of time over the years, my parents are long gone I don't know what happened to it. To make it tougher, I can't even recall the title of the album. All I remember was that there were pictures of soldiers made out of wodden matches on the album cover. If anyone has heard of an album containing these songs, please let me know.

That's it! Gotta love the web.

This seems to be a different performance of the songs that I remember. The version I remember had adult soloists. But at least now I know this wasn't a figment of my imagination, and I have a title to search by. (I wonder if the "Ray Charles" referred to in the site is the famous Ray Charles, or someone else?)

    Thanks, Marc!
