Is there one? For connecting the sound from my DVD player or Xbox to my receiver, it looks like I can use Digital Coax or a fibre optic cable.

How does it matter which one I choose?

There really is no discernable difference in the performance of one cable over the other. I go with digital coax mainly because the cables are cheaper. As I understand it, the RCA connections also tend to be a bit tighter and more secure than the Toslink connections.

Thanks for linking me directly to that part. I tried to read it before, but for some reason was distracted and couldn't finish. I'll have to finish later.

Thank you though, these replies have definitely answered my question well.
