Is "The Time Machine" (1960) ever coming to Blu-ray? (1 Viewer)

Yes, I would buy a Blu-ray edition too.
I saw the "The Time Machine" when it was first released in 1960 (as an 11-year old) . The thrill of peering into the VERY distance future (802,701) still makes me smile and contemplate it all. Aside from the out-dated effects (great back then), the music (Russell Garcia), the wonderful machine, the cast (Rod Taylor, Alan Young, Yvette Mimieux, Sebastian Cabot, ...) and the dialog still hold their own.

Oh and another thing that really sent disturbing shivers along my spine.
That blasted citywide alarm sound (i refer to it as the nuclear alarm ) when he meets the son of David Filby.
I take it everyone in here has seen this episode of The Big bang theory.One of the biggest laughs from the audience i 've heard in recent years.

And you must see Rod Taylor in the Twilight zone classic episode entitled And when the sky was opened.Absolutely worth every second of the 22 minutes.

For me, it was the scene where the dead Morlock becomes a skeleton. Skeletons scared me a lot back then.

It would be nice to see a blu-ray double bill from Warner with both the 1960 and 2002 version.

The remake is from Dreamworks/Paramount so we'll have to beg them to do it. I remember reading about how they cut quite a bit of the moon-crashing-to-the-Earth sequence because of 9/11 - I'd love to see the complete version on Blu. The 1960 original has always been one of my favorites. As pointed out by another poster the distant-future scenes were one of the highlights of the film for me, as brief as they were. I've never read the book but I understand that there's a longer section dedicated to the distant future in the book?

Blind buy from me I own it on NTSC LD & DVD!!! but think it would need some work on BD.
IMO the 2002 remake was very poor due to casting & the removal of the moon crashing into earth FX (directed by Simon Wells who is HG Wells great-grandson!!!)

Oh...I thought the redo was okay. I kind of enjoyed it. Had some nice visuals. Didn't compare to others like the one with Taylor and Time After Time.
